Inner Charleston Slough (ICS), at Mountain View, California. Our project to enhance tidal action here has accelerated the accumulation of sediment, with the goal of creating a vegetated tidal marsh. Monitoring since 1999 shows that sediment has been accumulating at a rate of 0.2 to 0.25 ft.yr. Cordgrass-both the native Spartina foliosa and the invasive non-native S. alterniflora - have become established around the edge of ICS.
